Schuberg Philis appoints Maarten Kalff to Customer Operations Manager

Amsterdam, March 8 2011Schuberg Philis, provider of mission critical IT outsourcing services, appointed Maarten Kalff to Customer Operations Manager. In this role, he will manage the team that is responsible for the mission-critical applications and underlying IT infrastructure of Eneco Energy Trade, which forms the link between Eneco's market and (co)production facilities.

As Customer Operations Manager, Maarten is responsible for all aspects of the relationship with Eneco Energy Trade. He makes sure that the customer gets the best that Schuberg Philis has to offer. COM’s are like entrepreneurs within Schuberg Philis: they have final responsibility for customer, deadlines, budgets and profit. In addition, a COM is a purveyor of culture and inspires engineers to push back frontiers.

Schuberg Philis has been growing with 37 per cent per year since its establishment in 2003. Therefore, recruitment is a strategic process for the organisation. In 2010, Schuberg Philis conducted 647 interviews with 343 applicants. The demands for employees are high: of these applicants, Schuberg Philis hired 35 people, of which 27 Mission-Critical Engineers and 5 Customer Operations Managers.

Pim Berger, Managing Director at Schuberg Philis: “Certificates don’t mean that much to us, experience is much more important. As COM you have at least 15 years’ experience with managing complex IT outsourcing projects, from RFI to implementation and management. You have a solid technical IT background and get the business context. And personality is crucial: you are driven by impact and customer satisfaction instead of status and hierarchy. You have perseverance, are critical, sincere and balanced, and have a sense of humour. Maarten has these qualities, so we are very pleased with his addition to the team.”

Maarten Kalff about his transfer to Schuberg Philis: “Schuberg Philis appealed to me immediately: there are no management layers or long communication lines. It has a flat organisation structure in which all responsibilities lie with the teams. The philosophy is quite simple: 100% customer satisfaction is the ultimate goal. Schuberg Philis guarantees 100% uptime, without exceptions: the applications of our customers simply have to be available at all times. So we do everything right first time.”

Maarten has extensive experience within the IT sector and financial services sector. Before joining Schuberg Philis, Maarten worked as Director Financial Services at Interxion and Programme Manager at Optiver, among others.
