Schuberg Philis outsourcing partner of ENECO Energy Trade
ENECO Energy Trade contracts out mission critical applications and infrastucture to Schuberg Philis
Amsterdam, 13 september 2006 - ENECO Energy Trade, the trading company of ENECO Energie Holding, has contracted out all mission critical applications and the underlying IT infrastructure to Schuberg Philis. ENECO Energy Trade, also named EET, manages the energy portfolio of ENECO Energie, one of the three largest energy companies in the Netherlands in terms of turnover and market share. Altogether, ENECO Energie supplies some two million business and private customers with gas, electricity and warmth and achieves therewith a turnover exceeding 3.5 billion Euro. ENECO Energy Trade is responsible for purchase and trade of electricity, gas, CO2 emission rights as well as for optimizing and controlling electricity producing plants in Northern and Western Europe on behalf of ENECO Energie.
To EET, trading and controlling applications as well as the underlying IT infrastructure are of vital importance. Moreover, these systems need to be adjusted quickly to developments on the energy market which is particularly dynamic since its liberalization. Therefore, EET has been looking for an outsourcing partner able to combine the highest possible availability, service level and professional risk management with flexibility and innovation. After a thorough tender examination procedure under supervision of Morgan Chambers, which included all large outsourcing companies, EET selected Schuberg Philis as their outsourcing partner. Both partners signed an outsourcing contract to a value exceeding 15 million Euro and a term of validity of five years.
Schuberg Philis is an outsourcing company specialized in overall management of mission critical applications and infrastructures. They do this for companies who require a high measure of availability and professional risk management next to their ability to respond quickly and in a flexible manner to a changing business environment. All applications and IT infrastructures contracted out to Schuberg Philis fall under Schuberg Philis’ ISO 27001 certification (previously known as BS 7799).
René van der Vegt, Director of ENECO Energy Trade, says: “We have chosen Schuberg Philis because they are able to quickly implement and control changes in our critical systems. This is very important for us: only then we will be able to keep on moving with the developments of our market at a high quality level. Moreover, Schuberg Philis is very progressive in the field of risk management, and the company has built up a strong position with regard to the “auditability” of their services. As we trade in a highly regulated market, this was also an important factor for us.”
Pim Berger, Managing Director of Schuberg Philis, is very enthusiastic about the close co-operation with EET. “Again in this development we apply our unique service concept by co-operating closely with the management of EET and the application partners. Thanks to this integrated approach, we can achieve the highest possible availability and flexibility.”
