SunTone certification for Schuberg Philis
New outsourcing company starts with the highest quality
Amersfoort, February 17, 2003 – Schuberg Philis, a new Dutch player in the market for outsourcing mission critical systems, has today officially received ‘SunTone’ certification. This international certification, introduced by Sun Microsystems Inc, is only given to companies that satisfy a large number of strict criteria covering hardware infrastructure, security, knowledge and expertise, operational processes and customer support.
Until today, Schuberg Philis was known under the name MFN. At the end of January 2003, the Dutch subsidiary of MFN was subject to a management buy-out, breaking free from its American mother company. The new organization created from the buy-out will continue as an independent company under the name Schuberg Philis, focusing exclusively on outsourcing mission critical environments, applications and processes. Pim Berger, Managing Director of Schuberg Philis, says, “This certification is not only a confirmation of the high demands we place on our services, it also offers the necessary guarantee for (potential) clients and partners who want to do business with us.”
The SunTone initiative
The SunTone certification program offers an objective confirmation that
an outsourcing company has complied with strict demands on availability,
reliability, performance, agility and other quality issues. The SunTone
stamp acts as a ‘mark of quality’ and shows that an outsourcing
company satisfies industry standards on Service Level Agreements for end-users
or specific business categories.
The SunTone Architecture Council, an industry counsel consisting of CTOs and IT directors from businesses and service provider organizations, developed and validated the criteria that make up the so-called SunTone Specification. This specification describes procedures and methods for judging and validating end-to-end services, from network bandwidth to the delivery of applications. It is also supplementary to other procedural frameworks such as ITIL, ISO17799 or SysTrust.
Hundreds of companies and service providers around the world rely on the SunTone Specification for implementing and managing high quality IT services. These companies meet the demands laid down in their SLAs, economize on their costs, improve the efficiency of their IT services, cut implementation times, lower risks and increase their business benefits.
